Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, covers 29 sub-districts.
During the 2026 school holiday period, from June 22 to July 13, 2026.
The Regional Coordinator of BGN Tangerang Regency, Priyo Basuki, stated that the suspension was based on the Decree of the Head of BGN RI Number 12 of 2026.
“All SPPGs. This is in order to improve the effectiveness, accountability, and efficiency of the MBG program budget management,” said Priyo Basuki in Tangerang on Monday.
During the holiday period, all MBG kitchens will not distribute nutritious food to beneficiaries. Additionally, SPPG managers will not receive operational incentives during this period.
“The number of student beneficiaries is 608,281 people. Meanwhile, non-student beneficiaries number 99,490 people,” he said.
BGN stated that this policy is also used for the arrangement and standardization of MBG program governance to be more efficient and accountable.
The Deputy Head of BGN and Spokesperson for BGN, Agustina Arumsari, emphasized that the suspension of MBG distribution is being carried out nationally during school holidays.
"For this time, the policy we have taken is that we will not distribute MBG at all, with the intention of standardizing operational governance and resource efficiency," said Agustina Arumsari in Jakarta.
She added that this policy differs from the Ramadan period, which still used a specific distribution system, whereas this school holiday period is a complete halt.
BGN will also utilize the holiday period to improve governance during various other holiday periods, including national holidays, religious holidays, and weekends.
"We want to re-manage and re-arrange the governance, so we are taking advantage of this school holiday momentum for improvements in the management of the MBG program," said Agustina.
During this period, there will be no distribution of nutritious food for all MBG beneficiaries in Tangerang Regency until the school holiday period ends.
