Minyakita Cooking Oil Price Remains at Rp15,700 per Liter, Government Protects Purchasing Power
JAKARTA, Headline24.id – The government ensures that the Highest Retail Price (HET) for Minyakita will remain at Rp15,700 per liter despite production costs being under pressure due to the increase in palm oil prices on the global market. This policy was adopted to maintain public purchasing power and ensure basic necessities remain affordable.
The decision to maintain the HET for Minyakita is part of the government's effort to maintain food price stability amidst economic challenges still felt by some communities. In addition to affordable prices, the government is also committed to ensuring that Minyakita supplies are evenly available in various regions.
Minyakita HET Remains Rp15,700 per Liter
Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, stated that the government will maintain the price of Minyakita even though production costs have increased due to the rise in global palm oil prices.
“The government has expressed its commitment to maintaining the highest retail price or HET for Minyakita at Rp15,700 per liter, even though production costs have increased due to the rising global palm oil prices. For President Prabowo, the priority is the availability of cooking oil at an affordable price for the Indonesian people,” Qodari said in a statement on Monday (22/6/2026).
According to him, the government understands that the price of basic necessities is always a concern for the public, especially low-income groups who are most affected by changes in the prices of daily necessities.
Therefore, the price stability of Minyakita is considered important to help maintain public purchasing power amidst various ongoing economic challenges.
Government Focuses on Maintaining Supply and Distribution
In addition to maintaining prices, the government is also working to ensure that Minyakita distribution runs better so that the product is easily found in the market.
“The government also hears, sees, and understands the economic challenges faced by the public today, especially vulnerable communities. Therefore, the government has decided to maintain the price of Minyakita,” he said.
The government wants to ensure that the public not only obtains Minyakita at a price in accordance with the HET but also receives sufficient and sustainable supply.
To achieve this goal, the government continues to strengthen the distribution system, especially through traditional markets which are one of the main channels for selling Minyakita to the public.
“The government's focus is on strengthening Minyakita distribution to make it more accessible to the public, especially through traditional markets, and to ensure its distribution runs better,” he said.
Minyakita Price Stability Supports Food Security
Qodari emphasized that the policy of maintaining the Minyakita HET is not only aimed at protecting public purchasing power. This step is also part of the government's strategy in maintaining national food security.
The availability of cooking oil at stable prices is considered to play an important role in maintaining household economic stability while supporting community welfare.
“For the government, maintaining the price and supply stability of Minyakita is not just an effort to maintain public purchasing power, but also part of enforcing national food sovereignty,” Qodari asserted.
By maintaining the Minyakita HET at Rp15,700 per liter and strengthening distribution in various regions, the government hopes that the public can still obtain cooking oil at an affordable price amidst global commodity price fluctuations.
