Roy Suryo and dr Tifa Handed Over to South Jakarta Prosecutor's Office, Involved in Alleged Jokowi Diploma Forgery Case
Jakarta – The Metro Jaya Regional Police handed over Roy Suryo and dr. Tifa to the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office on Monday (22/6/2026) morning. Both arrived around 09:43 AM WIB under tight police escort.
This handover is part of the stage II process after the case files were declared complete or P-21 by the prosecutor's office. Thus, the handling of the case officially transfers to the prosecutor's office for further legal proceedings.
Roy Suryo and dr. Tifa were seen wearing orange detainee clothing and were handcuffed as they alighted from the detention vehicle. Both were immediately directed to the administration room of the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office for the handover process.
During the moment, Roy Suryo was seen walking while saying "Allahu akbar". Meanwhile, dr. Tifa appeared to be reciting the prayer "Hasbunallah wa ni'mal wakil" and briefly gave a two-finger gesture to those around the location.
This case is related to the alleged dissemination of accusations of a fake diploma against the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. Investigators had previously conducted a series of examinations before declaring both as suspects.
According to the police, the entire investigation process was carried out in accordance with applicable legal procedures. The handover to the prosecutor's office was made after all files were declared complete and met formal and material requirements.
The handover was carried out because the investigation process by the Metro Jaya Regional Police has been completed. After the P-21 files, the authority for prosecution rests entirely with the prosecutor's office, which will determine the next legal steps, including the preparation of charges and the referral to court.
