Taufik Hidayat's Method of Concealing Alleged Girlfriend Abuse at Boarding House Revealed

BANDUNG, Headline24.id – New facts continue to emerge in the case of alleged confinement and abuse of a woman with the initials YTR (29), allegedly committed by Taufik Hidayat (30). In addition to being arrested by the West Java Regional Police, the investigation also reveals how the suspect allegedly hid the acts of violence against the victim for years.

Police arrested Taufik in a joint operation in the Bandung Raya area after he had previously moved locations to evade law enforcement.

Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan, emphasized that Taufik did not surrender himself but was arrested by a police team.

"He did not surrender, he was arrested in the Bandung Raya area," said Hendra, Wednesday (24/6).

The statement also responded to the confession of Taufik's former superior, Dadang Ahyar Ismail, who had previously stated that the suspect surrendered through an intermediary.

Victim Reportedly Suffered Vision Impairment

During the investigation, residents of the boarding house where Taufik and the victim lived began to provide testimony.

The wife of the boarding house keeper, Mulyati, said that the room occupied by Taufik was almost always tightly closed. The victim was also rarely seen leaving the room or interacting with other residents.

According to Mulyati, Taufik often went out alone and always locked the room door when leaving the premises.

"The perpetrator liked to go out of the boarding house to buy rice or go out briefly, and the door was always locked. He was afraid of someone entering the boarding house or anyone coming in," said Mulyati.

Although they heard sounds of impact from inside the room several times, the boarding house residents claimed not to know that the victim was allegedly being tortured.

Claimed Victim Had Severe Nearsightedness

To avoid suspicion from the surrounding residents, Taufik reportedly explained that the woman living with him had a vision impairment.

He claimed the victim needed an eye operation with a considerable cost.

"Yes, he often talked about his partner. He said her eyes were sick and she needed surgery at the hospital. But she needed to use BPJS and have Rp10 million. He said her eyesight was minus 17, so she couldn't see from a young age, and he said the girl's parents were in Java," said Mulyati.

In addition, Taufik also told the boarding house residents that he worked as a debt collector and was from the Nagreg area, Bandung Regency.

Victim Left Boarding House When Already Weak

Mulyati recalled the moment when the victim was finally taken to the hospital on June 9, 2026.

At that time, the victim's condition was reportedly very weak, to the point that she had to be carried out of the room before being taken away by car.

"When she was about to go to the hospital, she borrowed a headscarf from me. She took a long time to get ready. The Grab car waited a long time. The Grab car was on June 9. Then she was carried by the perpetrator. The car reversed to the gate. Mr. Resa was in the perpetrator's car behind. The perpetrator rode a motorcycle and followed from behind," she said.

According to her, the victim was almost never seen leaving her room during her stay at the boarding house.

Village Head Reveals Taufik's Behavioral History

This case also reveals Taufik's behavioral history, which is said to have been ongoing for a long time.

The Head of Ciaro Village, Nagreg District, Kusnaedi, said that Taufik's biological mother allegedly suffered prolonged mental distress due to her son's behavior.

"His mother was stressed, she was erratic for a year," said Kusnaedi.

He also mentioned that Taufik had been involved in cases of assault and motorcycle theft, serving about 1.5 years in prison.

In addition, Taufik is said to have committed violence against his own biological father.

This confession was directly conveyed by the father, Tata.

"I was once hit on the head with a piece of wood. At that time, I was working in the rice field, and he was at home doing nothing, wanting to eat but there was nothing," he said.

Police Continue to Investigate the Case

Currently, Taufik Hidayat has been detained and is undergoing intensive examination at the West Java Regional Police.

Investigators continue to delve into the alleged confinement and abuse of YTR, which is suspected to have occurred over several years, including gathering statements from witnesses and investigating the possibility of other criminal acts related to the case.
