JAKARTA, Headline24.id – Police revealed the motive of selebgram Adam Deni Gearaka alias ADG (30) who allegedly threatened a shophouse owner in the Cilincing area, North Jakarta, using an airsoft gun. Based on the examination results, the action was triggered by a feeling of not accepting it after a friend claimed to have been scolded by the shophouse owner.
This case has drawn attention after Adam Deni was reported for alleged threats and vandalism that occurred on two consecutive days. Police have now secured the perpetrator along with the evidence used during the incident.
Police Reveal Adam Deni's Motive for Threatening Shophouse Owner
Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Bima Sakti, said that Adam Deni came to the location because he felt offended by the treatment his colleague received from the shophouse owner.
“Because he had a friend there, who said they were scolded by the owner, he didn't accept it. That's why he went there,” Bima told reporters on Tuesday (06/23/2026).
According to police investigation, Adam Deni first visited the location on Wednesday (06/17/2026). During this visit, he allegedly intimidated a witness by showing an airsoft gun tucked in the back of his waist.
“He didn't point it, but it was placed at the back of his pants, behind his body. Then he lifted his shirt, and said something like, ‘Don’t you know what this is?’ That’s what he said. That was to threaten the witness there,” he said.
As a result of these actions, the witness admitted to feeling scared and threatened.
Allegedly Committed Vandalism the Following Day
A day after the first incident, Adam Deni returned to the same location. On the second occasion, he allegedly vandalized several facilities in the shophouse area.
“The next day, he destroyed things like banners, and kicked the wall,” said Bima.
The victim's report was then followed up by police officers who immediately visited the crime scene. Adam Deni was apprehended while still at the location.
“We apprehended him at the crime scene,” he said.
Police stated that the arrest process took place without any resistance from the suspect.
Airsoft Gun Said to Be Only for Intimidation
During the examination, Adam Deni admitted that the vandalism was triggered by momentary emotion. He also provided information regarding the airsoft gun he carried when he came to the location.
“He said it was just out of emotion, actually,” said Bima.
According to Adam Deni's confession to investigators, the airsoft gun was not used to attack, but only to intimidate.
“He said it was just to scare them,” he said.
Police also confirmed that Adam Deni was not under the influence of alcohol or narcotics at the time of the incident. Urine test results showed that he was negative for the use of illegal substances.
“His urine test was negative,” said Bima.
Police Seize Airsoft Gun and Name Suspect
In handling this case, police confiscated one unit of an airsoft gun suspected to have been used during the threat incident.
In addition, the victim reportedly suffered material losses estimated at around Rp15 million due to the alleged vandalism that occurred at the location.
For this case, Adam Deni Gearaka is charged under Article 521 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP).
