Sonny Sanjaya Seeks LPSK Protection, Ready to Expose Big Names in MBG Case
JAKARTA, Headline24.id – Sonny Sanjaya requests LPSK protection for himself and his family after his application for justice collaborator (JC) status in the alleged corruption case of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program was rejected by the Attorney General's Office. The request was made because Sonny claimed to be ready to provide information that could help uncover other parties allegedly involved in the case.
Sonny Sanjaya's legal counsel, Krisna Murti, stated that his client's security is a top priority given the possibility of revealing important names in the case that is currently in the public spotlight.
Sonny Sanjaya Requests LPSK Protection for Family
Krisna explained that his party is still awaiting a decision from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) regarding the protection request that has been submitted previously.
According to him, this protection is necessary so that Sonny Sanjaya and his family can feel safe during the legal process, especially if they later provide testimony that could reveal new facts in the alleged MBG corruption case.
"Considering the lack of security guarantees for Sonny Sanjaya and his family when testifying to reveal the names allegedly involved in this MBG corruption scandal," Krisna told reporters on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
He assessed that the state needs to provide maximum protection to all parties willing to help uncover alleged acts of corruption so that the law enforcement process runs effectively.
Sonny Sanjaya Hopes Justice Collaborator Status Will Be Approved
In addition to requesting protection, Sonny Sanjaya also hopes to still obtain justice collaborator status even though his application has been rejected by the Attorney General's Office.
The legal team requested that LPSK reconsider the application independently and objectively without any influence from any party.
"We hope LPSK makes the most objective decision possible without intervention, considering that all the names Sonny will reveal are important people," he said.
According to Krisna, the information possessed by his client is believed to be able to help law enforcement officers develop the investigation into the alleged corruption in the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal program.
Attorney General's Office Explains Reason for JC Rejection
Meanwhile, the Attorney General's Office explained the reason for rejecting Sonny Sanjaya's justice collaborator application.
One of the main requirements to obtain justice collaborator status is an admission of the alleged offense. However, in the latest examination, investigators assessed that this requirement had not been met.
"In the examination yesterday, there was indeed no one considered by the investigators to have stated that the person concerned admitted to his actions as alleged," said a representative of the Attorney General's Office.
Therefore, investigators decided not to accept the justice collaborator application submitted by the suspect.
MBG Case Still Under Investigation
The alleged corruption case of the Free Nutritious Meal program is still being investigated by law enforcement officials. The program, which is one of the government's strategic agendas, has received widespread attention because it relates to the use of state budgets and public services.
